Miscellaneous Civil War and Grove Family papers, 1859-1906.

The collection contains several items pertaining to Mahone's Brigade including "The history of Mahone's Brigade" by Joseph E. Folkes, 1877; a history of the Marion Rangers (Co. A, 16th Regt., Va. Volunteers) by Thomas H. Crop, written for Col. J. Minnetree, 1875; Col. Minnetree's nominating speech, 1881? on behalf of W.E. Cameron; and letters to Minetree, 1875-1877, regarding Mahone and the battle of the Crater. The collection also contains correspondence, 1886-1906, regarding the Civil War claims of John W. Eppes for stores and supplies furnished to the U.S. Army during the Civil War. Correspondents include Eppes, Congressman James D. Brady, Minetree, Mrs. Betty Eppes Minetree and R.W. Hunter. Miscellaneous items include a scrapbook, chiefly of Virginia clippings; Grove family deeds, 1859-1860, to cemetery lots in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, Penna., and teachers professional certificates, 1870 and 1871, for Annie E. Grove of York, County, Penna.
